The above Pledge is a statement of fact that the majority of American Atheist and Non-religious Folk would be comfortable reciting. However, most of us are aware of the importance of meeting in a secular middle instead of trying to cram our beliefs down the throats of others. We do not want anyone’s gods taken from them:  we just want the subtle and/or obvious promotion of gods/god, or the lack there of, left for the home and/or for the places of worship.

 

My wife and I have three children that are as atheist as they were the day they were born. Now our children are asking questions’ regarding what happens when we die and how we came into being. We’re in the dilemma of dealing with the present state religious indoctrination of our children. A State mandated “Patriotic Program” which consists of contemporary Christian music and other misleading ideas has us at wits end as to how we’re supposed to explain to our children the scientific nature of our being.

 

We’re not debating with anyone. We’re not arguing that “we’re right and others are wrong”.  We’re just asking of those to whom it may concern, to give the same respect for us that they so ardently demand for themselves. We’ve posted similar sentiments on the World Wide Web before. This email will be added to the site. Our current homepage consist of some pictures of our three little atheists and some more of our ideas. All in all, our site is in the works. We’d like any feedback we can get. We’ll be using replies we get on or about this document as we endeavor to build a better situation for all.

 

Right now we’re asking of those who wouldn't allow their own children to recite (or to attend a recital), which states the fact that a god or gods do not exist, then please do not ask others who believe differently, to do what you would not expect or permit your own children to do.
